Lips Like a Rose

This is a layout I did of my niece, Charlie.  I based the layout off the Pages In Time sketch of the week.  I used the Stella and Rose paper line, fussy cut some of the photos and added some flowers, butterflies and pearls to accent it.  I tucked in some hidden journaling that I have left blank so my sister can fill it out.

Boot Camp Contest

My local scrapbooking store, Scrapbook Workshoppe, is having a boot decorating contest.  It is for charity and the funds raised will go to help families of deployed soldiers.  To qualify for a prize, you have to have at least three Tim Holtz products used on your boot.  I just had to give it a whirl!!!  I chose a regular old cowboy boot and spray painted it white.  I then used distress ink and Maya Mist to color it and my flowers green.  I then cut, painted, inked and glammed up all of the die cuts.  Then finished it off with some ribbon, lace and trimmings!  I haven't decided what its final purpose will be, but I am imagining it will be a fun place to store my heat gun!  If you live locally, I hope you give this challenge a whirl.  If you decide you want to alter a boot of your own, send me a link so I can show pictures to my friends at Scrapbook Workshoppe!

Here are some close-ups:

So In Love

My darling husband & I just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.  I decided to use the Pages In Time Thursday sketch to make a layout of our wedding day.  I found the textured papers at Hobby Lobby.  As I mentioned in my last post, I am absolutely in love with all things ivory and white right now, so I new they were perfect for this layout!

Here is this week's Thursday sketch:

If you would like to play along, post your LO's in the gallery at Pages In Time and in the dedicated sketch forum.

Bliss

I have had two things on my mind lately:

1.  Christmas carols.  I keep finding myself singing these carols as I walk down the halls at work.  Maybe it has to do with the 110 degree heat index we have been facing.  I don't know why carols keep popping into my head like it is normal to be singing them!  City sidewalks, busy sidewalks (you are welcome, is it in your head now, too?).  Make no mistake, I hate winter!

2.  Monochromatic color palettes.  I am completely obsessed with all things white, ivory and amber.  I have so many projects on my mind right now that I don't want to use color in.  Did I somehow suffer color overload?  Either way, I'm going with it...inspiration is inspiration.

I based this card off a sketch that Karen (fablady) presented to the Pages In Time Design Team.  I knew it was the perfect opportunity to act out on my obsession!  If you want to play along, here is the sketch:

I know, I used a lot of creative freedom, but that's what it is about, right???  Inspiration!

Pages In Time Interactive Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pages In Time Interactive Blog Hop! We call it an “Interactive Blog Hop” because you do more than read a blog, you actually get to create a layout along the way! At each stop you will collect steps for completing a layout!

The Interactive Blog Stop starts at the Pages In Time Blog with the Pages In Time Weekly Sketch.  From there, you will hop from blog to blog to collect the steps to create your layout! You should have arrived here from Andrea's Blog.  If you stumbled upon the hop by accident, please play along (just make sure you hit all the blogs)!

The step you are collecting from me is a Title.  To qualify for this step, your layout must include a title.
I find that no matter what I buy, I never have exactly what I want for letters.  So, I often get creative and paint, stamp or doodle on my chipboard letters.  Here is an example:
Be certain to write down the steps along the way, because you will need to incorporate them into your layout to be eligible for the overall prize! Speaking of prizes, take a peak at the grand prize:

To be eligible for the prize you must incorporate the sketch and five additional steps from the hop. The order of the hop is as follows:
Anna C: http://picturesnpapers.blogspot.com/
Jessie: http://disasterouscrafting.blogspot.com/
Stacey: http://ohschwietscrap.blogspot.com/
Andrea: http://dreasscrapsofinspiration.blogspot.com/
Traci: http://scrapsofwhimsy.blogspot.com/
Lili: http://pagesintimestoresite.ning.com/profiles/blogs/pages-in-time-interactive-blog

Finally, you will need to upload your completed layout at Pages In Time. If you are not already a member, you will need to become one. Once you are there, you will find a Forum entitled “June 30 – July 6 Thursday Sketch” in the Sketches Forum. You will have until midnight on July 6th to upload your layout. All layouts that are based upon the sketch and have incorporated at least five of the steps from the blog hop will be eligible for the prize. A winner will be chosen by the Pages In Time Design Team.
You can earn two extra votes!!! If you follow all the blogs listed in the hop and leave a comment on each blog, you will be eligible for an extra vote. You can also earn an extra vote if you incorporate the step listed at each stop in your layout. That means, if you do your layout based on the sketch and include all of the steps, you get an extra vote!

One more surprise!!! I am offering a personal RAK to a random person that is a follower of my blog and leaves a comment!

Now hop on over to Lili’s blog.
